Any plastic waste or scrap has to undergo the following basic steps to be considered for recycling:
Step 1: Sorting/Separation – Plastic waste is collected and separated according to its type, size and material composition. Different plastics such as PET, HDPE, LDPE and PP are sorted before processing.
Step 2: Shredding – The sorted plastic waste is fed into the Double Shaft Plastic Shredder, where two counter-rotating shafts equipped with cutting blades tear and shear the material into smaller pieces. The shredded plastic can then be further processed for washing, granulation or recycling.
Step 3: Further Processing – The shredded plastic is transferred for subsequent processing such as washing, drying, extrusion, pelletizing or other recycling processes depending on the required final product.
Plastic recycling helps reduce the volume of waste sent to landfills and minimizes environmental pollution caused by improper disposal and open burning. The shredded plastic can be recovered and converted into useful raw material for manufacturing new plastic products.
